Palliative Care: Cultural Aspects of Care

This live activity will discuss the definitions and the importance of inclusion of cultural aspects of the care of patients with serious illnesses and at the end of life. This program will provide information on various cultural assessment tools.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define culture and cultural groups
  • Describe how culture influences palliative care
  • Explain how sexual orientation impacts palliative and serious illness care
  • Discuss the importance of cultural competence in pain and palliative care
